Domain checker with AJAX

Carlos Barrero Vázquez shared this idea 6 years ago
Completed

Search domains in AJAX.

I hope they implement this. The search for a domain becomes extremely slow when you search a domain with more than one termination (. TLD), which makes a search late sometimes more than 20 seconds, so that the client does thinks that the server not respond or our server is very slow.

I think by implementing AJAX search engine domains would be a good improvement.

The domain checker has received a number of changes in the past 2 years that I believe addresses what you were asking for here. Firstly the implementation of support for alternative domain lookup providers, and in particular eNom, allows for searches to be completed much more quickly for a range of extensions. In addition, the process is now ajax driven in the latest Six theme which allows us to provide a loading icon while searches are being performed making it much clearer to end users.

To be honest, I don't see much of a sense in that. If the client sees his browser 'Waiting for example.com..." for 20 seconds or any AJAX 'Please wait' does not make a big difference.

If this should be implemented, please as optional feature, not mandatory or default.

For an experienced user maybe can not influence him, but when begginers clients see that is very slow or is not working. At the same time with the ajax search, you also can see the available domains while you wait the other requests of TLD.

This feature is a must because:

- if you are building custom single page order process - you must have the means to do so

- owners of whmcs license should be able to customize it, as per their needs
