SMS notifications included inside WHMCS

I have some clients that do not check their email often.

I always manually send them an SMS using SMS global. They then pay a few hours later.

I think it would be a great idea to implant the use of SMS gateways into WHMCS without the use of addon modules.

We already have the client's mobile numbers data.

So an example would be that only when an invoice reminder email is sent, an SMS is also sent out notifying the client.

Kind regards,

Integrating SMS notifications within WHMCS is a fantastic idea! It would significantly enhance communication and ensure timely updates for users, improving overall service reliability and customer satisfaction. - https://1minfix.com/

It alot works because they need to add many SMS gateway providers like am did with my module. Not everybody going to use the one they list it
MessageBird !!
Infobip https://www.infobip.com/
https://twilio.com/ also looks promising to use.
These columns need to be present, and after the conclusion of the necessary time, the sums for each column need to be determined. Incomplete column (business name) as well This is essential and highly needed. https://dordle.io
We currently use 'MessageBird' along with a third-part module to achieve this. It would be great if WHMCS could implement this as standard.

Taking it a little further you could allow clients to choose which SMS alerts they'd like to receive... ie Payment failed, login in notification, invoice generated, password changed etc. That way they can opt-in to what's important to them without being overrun by alerts.
Really good idea!
Hi there,
Thanks for your suggestion. This sounds like the perfect opportunity for a module developer to create a Notification module: https://developers.whmcs.com/notification-providers/

Which SMS gateway would be people's choice?
John, there are already multiple SMS modules available, but as you well know, using 3rd party modules with WHMCS is a nightmare, as whenever there is any issue that needs support, you demand that all third party hooks and modules are disabled while you then wait for the issue to occur again.
This can then result in a system that is not working properly due to the now missing modules and hooks.
