Sometimes a promotion code is what it takes to attract customers that are not quite ready to buy.
Therefore it would be nice to make it possible for new client to sign up with a promtional code without making a purchase. But later the promotional code maybe used.

Can you perhaps provide some details on what your ideal workflow would look like for this feature?
Are there any sites or systems currently offering this kind of feature, as this isn't something I've encountered myself before?
