Order notes that show up on the generated invoices

I have a few customers that have multiple orders of the same product. However, each of their orders is associated to different projects. When they receive an invoice from me, it only shows the product name, etc. So, they call me to find out which of their projects that order is associated with. I have the ability to make a note in WHMCS on the order so I know which is which, but there is no way to make that note, or any note appear on the invoice that is generated so that they know without having to call me.

I recommend using a Product Custom Field for this purpose: https://docs.whmcs.com/Custom_Fields
Check the "Show on Invoice" option, and the custom field value will be added to the invoice line item. Perfect as a service identifier: https://docs.whmcs.com/Custom_Fields#Show_on_Invoice
