Well this has been always an issue. Customers who want to order a server (which requires a domain for the hostname) have to enter a domain first before they can check what the total cost will be for a server. I think it has costs us a lot of customers in the past (we did receive quite a few complaints during the years to be honest).
Currently WHMCS works like this; you select a product (in this case a dedicated server) then you proceed to configure the server. However here you have to fill in first a domain to proceed. This turns away potential customers, because they think they will be forced to buy the server or it's simply too much of a hassle. Potential new customers want to configure a server and see what it will cost. They do not want to enter a domain first to proceed.
So what I am proposing is the ability to move the domain input field elsewhere. E.g. on the page where you have the configurable options as well. It doesn't matter where it's placed there, because they can still configure the server first and see the price.
I think this will be a major improvement. There are some solutions nowadays available who do a similar thing, but these are so-called "one order page". Maybe WHMCS could also create something like that (or include this option) as well, but maintaining the use of Smarty like with the standard cart. That would also be perfect.
We cannot do it ourselves as everything is hardcoded (encoded) in the important files. And the one page solutions which are out there, they cannot be adjusted to suit our needs.
I seriously hope this can be included somehow. Thank you.
