Current Challenge:
The WHMCS documentation for creating reseller packages advises against selecting a WHM package name and instead utilizing Advanced Mode for individual resource configuration. However, CloudLinux relies on existing WHM packages to define resource limitations like CPU, MySQL, I/O, processes, etc. WHMCS currently lacks functionality to manage these CloudLinux-specific parameters within the Advanced Mode settings.
Impact:
This disconnection between WHMCS and CloudLinux impacts the ability to fully utilize both platforms' capabilities for reseller hosting setups as a reseller account configured within WHMCS will probably use the default CloudLinux limit which is the lowest and meant for basic site testing.
Proposed Solutions:
1. WHMCS & CloudLinux Integration: WHMCS should collaborate with the CloudLinux team to ensure CloudLinux resource limits can be configured directly within the WHMCS reseller package's Advanced Mode settings. This would provide a seamless user experience and allow for effective resource management.
2. WHM Package Dependency Removal: Alternatively, WHMCS could remove the requirement of using its interface to define resource limitations for reseller packages. This would allow CloudLinux's package-based resource management to function as intended.
Benefits:
+ Simplified Reseller Hosting Management: Centralized configuration of both WHMCS and CloudLinux resources within WHMCS simplifies reseller hosting setup and ongoing management.
+ Improved Resource Control: Enables precise control over CloudLinux-specific resource limits for reseller packages, leading to better server performance and optimization.
