We need a monthly statement showing what a client owes and need to be able to dictate the date each month it gets emailed out.

It should show which are overdue, and which are just owing. With due dates and invoice numbers showing too.

We also need the emails to continue monthly until nothing is owing.

Absolutely. Manual and automatic statements are necessary for regular clients with numerous invoices and payments. When a client asks for one at present we have to produce something outside of WHMCS because the Account Statement option within the Admin panel is not appropriate for sending to the client.

A statement is actually more useful for B2B clients than the Invoice Payment Reminder option currently available.I think Matthew R's idea is excellent - a flag on each client to decide whether or not they receive monthly statements. That way it's totally flexible.
To expand on this topic..

It would be nice to be able to add a section to the bottom of the PDF invoice to show UNPAID/OVERDUE invoices too.

Along with the option for the client statement to ONLY be emailed if there is a unpaid/past due invoice.

And possibly the option for a customer to generate the client statement from the client portal.
This is a great idea.

It would also be helpful to modify the existing invoice templates to allow a notice for unpaid invoices and payments received.
We use Docsaway and it only mails the invoice of the most current invoice. System needs to email past & current on future invoices and cancel the old ones or merge them the next time it bills out.
The current statement view is really not very friendly at all and can not be sent directly to the client.

Should be a flag per client, send monthly statements or not. I would like to see an automatic as well as the ability to manually send based on a date range.
This is an essential tool for a billing system. At the moment I have to import everything to our accounts system and create statements there. Would be much more efficient to have this in WHMCS please
I'd appreciate the ability to send statements monthly on a per-customer basis.

For some clients we want to use GoCardless Direct Debit to collect a monthly fixed amount of money which we will credit to the clients account. Any invoices will be subtracted from this amount - some months the client may have a 'credit' balance, other months they may be in debit - but will receive a monthly statement showing all credits/invoices for that month and the current account balance.

This is similar to the model used by utility companies such as gas/elec where usage can vary but a fixed direct debit is established.
I think this is an essential tool really. If account balance is zero - send nothing, otherwise, keep sending!

The manual send option would also be appreciated.

We would also like to see statements -- both automated and manual. In addition to an automated statement on a set date, we would like to be able to send upon demand as well as set a date range. For example, send a statement with all transactions between 9/1 and 10/31.
