WHOIS / Domain availability check through Domain Registar

Completed

Make it possible to perform domain availability checks via a domain registrar.

This will provide the ability to:

  • Perform more performant searches
  • Obtain more information about an available domain such as Premium status and pricing
  • Provide domain suggestions to end users
  • Avoid whois lookup rate limiting

Yes we can confirm the new domain registrar module APIs that power the domain availability checking will be accessible to all via domain registrar modules and documentation for doing this is being worked on currently and will be made available soon.

Could you please update http://docs.whmcs.com/Registrar_Module_Developer_Docs and the template ZIP to reflect the changed needed to a Domain Registrar module in order to make use of this?

Also in the current 7.1 Beta the choice for domain checking registrars seems to be limited to the ones named here already. I would like to test this feature as soon as possible.

he problem with this is, if we activate Resellerclub as "Lookup Provider", we will not be able to get domain status for gTLDs/ccTLDs that Resellerclub doesn't offer.

The module should work in a way that it would fallback to the "Standard Whois" check if the Registrar doesn't offer that TLD. This is crucial for us to be able to use the Premium Domains feature.

We disabled this module Just because resellerclub don't support our ccTLD . it is completly useless because of this simple bug.

Also , please provide development document for developing such modules.

Any way I could change the status of this? Not really implemented. There is no documentation and not the ability to select a registrar per TLD. So currently implemented as a nasty workaround, and looking for a proper solution.
