Search clients by Tax ID / VAT Number

After updating the WHMCS to the latest release (7.8.2) and run the VAT migration tool, in order to move the VAT Number customfield values to the new Tax ID native field, there is no way to search clients by VAT Number.

The Advanced Client Search (<yourhost>/admin/clients.php) does not display the VAT Number field so it's not possible to filter it.
The "Intelligent Search" bar doesn't find results as well.

This would be very useful and you should consider including it in the next releases.

I just tried again, it still works for me in WHMCS 8 ... Click the "magnifying glass" icon (=search icon) in the upper right, it will show a text field, and i can find clients by tax-id there.

Any update? It is not possible to search clients by VAT ID (tax_id) using the admin template "v4". The advanced client search does not have a VAT ID field on it (on templates v4 and blend) and the template v4 doesn't support the intelligent search either. The hook "IntelligentSearch" also do not work on v4.

To be more precise: you can use the "global" search on the upper right, and it will find both "old" customers as well as "new" customers. The cusomter needs to be "Active", though. So if a customer had signed up using the VAT number addon plugin, was then converted to the native tax_id field, it can be found using the global search - but only if the status of that customer is still "Active".

Hi Frank. It doesn't work for me. I'm using the WHMCS v7.8.2. The customer is "Active" too. Which version are you using?

This works for me. If you enter the tax id into the upper right search field (the "global" search), it will find the customer.
