Push-Notification for aWHMCS and iWHMCS app
Completed
I would be great if you could implement a push notification feature two the Android and iOS app of WHMCS. As the mobile software is getting capable of more and more new functions and services it would be great if you could go along with innovation.
Push notifications are hampered by the fact that there is no central server from which to "push" those notifications from, they'd need to come from your WHMCS installation on your server. But we are investigating possible solutions to this.
Hear, hear!
This is an old request. I look forward to hear good news about this.
great feature, why didn't I think of it? Oh wait, I did. :)
I hope you will add it, it is extremely important because of the tickets...
Going to bump this again, as I'd love to see this

I think this is a must.
Please do it in such a way that every user will have the option do select which event create a push-notification.
Someone can choose to get a push-notification only when a new ticket is assigned to him and another can choose to get a push-notification only when a new ticket is assigned to his department.
Someone can choose to get a push-notification only for new orders and someone else can choose to get a push-notification only for a to-do item due time.
Etc.
So please try to do it as flexible as possible.
Thanks!
Ram
Push notifications for new tickets was the main reason I bought the app - I assumed that functionality would be there as a given, and certainly expected it in the latest version. Would be great to see this soon, though development of the Android app, at least seems to be very slow.
Hi again,
Here you can see some Module ("Pusher") that can help you @ WHMCS can use to find a solution...
Also please see here.
Push notification is a must in such an phone app.
Thanks!
Ram
it's a must have, all android apps have notifications, in the current times, we can go to search for the notifications. The notifications must come to us. That will be a good business assitant
cPanel used Push Bullet feature. Ask them about it and link it...
This defiantly needs to happen!
Otherwise, the app is pointless for me anyway as my website is responsive! (and has alot more features)
looking forward to this. Hope you guys can figure it out
Its very necessary feature and it should be added otherwise its better to use web admin panel only

Any progress on this after 3 years, this kind of app must have this?
even your competitor the un official app has a notification I don't know if it is Push and don't care if it is push or just a normal notification .............it just needs a notification.
EDIT by admin: removed link to third party application.
this is a basic and an essential part of any app
This is NEEDED!!!
Just sign up in any "push server" like Pushover.net and then you can use API to send notifications from whmcs hooks, for example
John if they need to come from the whmcs hosted server then what's the problem? We need the push notifications otherwise your apps are worthless.
This is a must, the app is rather useless without it because you can just use the web interface for free.
At the moment I am using Boxcar iOS app, I'm using the API to check for new tickets and orders, when either action occurs it sends me a push notification then I login to web.
The HTML5 Push API enables push notifications to work, each browser vendor manages the central server for that browser. Although this doesn't strictly apply to the apps, it would be very helpful to implement in the browser version.
Additionally the Android app doesn't need a central server AFAIK, we should just be able to support a Firebase API key for these to work. Not sure how the process is for iOS, I believe it's a bit more complicated with certificates etc so perhaps less easy but still doable...
I agree, this is a must have for the mobile app to be notified whenever a new support ticket is opened. How about integrating w/ a 3rd party notification provider like https://pushover.net
I think this should be splitted in two different routes: direct and bounced push notifications. If the server respects the higher restrictions imposed by the push notification platforms, the messaging will involve solely the server and the mobile client. Otherwise the messaging will bounce trough a third party server managed by WHMCS itself, with a tad slower response times. The latter solution should be implemented first.
Hi all,
Thanks for your continued feedback and votes. In version 7.4 we have added a notifications system which leverages existing team collaboration platforms with push-notification capabilities; beginning with Slack and Hipchat.
This way you can receive push notifications for more than just support tickets; there are a large number of criteria which can trigger notifications. During the pre-release period we welcome your feedback on our Beta forum: https://whmcs.community/forum/389-v74-beta-discussion/
Hi, thank you! Pushover.net would be great as well to add as a provider. Their API is simple and easy to use as we added it to WHMCS support ticket notification.
Do this notification system have a public API? That way anyone can code their own solution.
Yes, pushover as well please as that seems to be one of the more reliable ones :-)
Hi,
The Notifications system is modular, so developers will be able to add their preferred solution if it's not included as standard.
Hi John, would you please point me in the right direction in the WHMCS Developer Documentation? I can't seem to find where to start extending the notification system.
Hi,
Sure, the documentation has been published here: https://developers.whmcs.com/notification-providers/getting-started/
Hi all,
I'm pleased to advise that we have added Ticket Alert Capabilities using a "Pull" paradigm to version 1.1.0 of the new WHMCS Mobile App - currently in technical preview: https://www.whmcs.com/preview/mobile
The technical obstacles to implementing push notifications for a self-hosted endpoint have not diminished, so this potential alternative allows the app to poll your installation whilst it is open on your device and display notifications of new tickets and new ticket replies.
Please give it a try and share your feedback with us at: https://whmcs.community/topic/301227-new-feature-push-notifications/
