Paypal Payments Advanced
Investigating
Anyone looking into implementing this as an option to future WHMCS updates? It looks pretty good from my standpoint and I would love to use it along with my current WHMCS install.

I don't use PayPal now because it takes them away from the site but I would LOVE this module. I currently use bluepay. I already have an ssl on my site so using PayPal advanced would be awesome. Please support this1
I'd give this more than 1 vote if I could!!!
You can actually use the paypal payments pro module for this. I have been using it since advanced came out. I have heard reports of them fixing it so that will not work, but i still can use it.
So until we have a "offical" module for advanced, you shiould be able to use the pro one.
I have a PayPal Pro and use it with WHMCS. I would prefer to use PayPal Advanced as it costs $25 a month less than Pro.
Are you sayng that you use PayPal Advanced account with WHMCS and pay only $5 a month to PayPal?
I'm kind of afraid to use the module if it only works sometimes Aaron. At any time, it may not work and that wouldn't be good.
Hanan, yes it's only $5 per month and the user doesn't leave your site. I think the only difference is that you don't get the virtual terminal, etc. with it. But PPAdvanced is the gateway and the user stays right on your site to checkout, no going to PP offsite anymore with PPAdvanced.
I have never had any issues with it. But it is up to you.
I contacted WHMCS about using Advanced the day PayPal launched it. At that time I learned that Advanced does not provide API login credentials as Pro does, meaning the application (WHMCS in this case) must be developed to support Advanced. See: https://www.x.com/developers/paypal/products/paypal-payments-advanced.
I did a little research just now and found that WHMCS is still NOT compatible with Advanced. See: https://www.paypal-marketing.com/paypal/html/hosted/emarketing/partner/directory/?bn_r=m#k=whmcs&n=24924371166&m=p and note that it is compatible with Express or Payflow (what they call Pro now).
I supported THIS Feature Request as I want to encourage WHMCS to modify their application to use PayPal Payments Advanced in addition to Express and Pro.
Also, as best as I can tell, PayPal Payments Advanced is the only merchant option they offer that supports Bill Me Later. I would like to offer Bill Me Later to my design package clients (it's obviously not useful for hosting fees, but my clients would like the option for larger, one-time development fee payments).
Aaron.. Did you use the API Settings (API ID, API Password, API Signature) in the Pro Settings?.. I used the API Setting and when I tested it, it sent out a security error like the settings were incorrect..
I desperately NEED this too!
Does anyone else need the feature below too? I think it would help a lot of people and allow them to receive recurring payments without having to get their clients setup a recurring payment profile for each product they purchase. It would work the same way GoDaddy handles recurring PayPal payments:
WHMCS PayPal Billing Agreements
Thanks for bringing it up! :)
Anyone have any idea when this is going to be completed? Its been over 5 months and still is in the "planning" stage :(
Please get this working
Would love to have it too, many thanks!
what's the status of this??!!
I realy need this feature!
I am using my own card, lol do you know how to fix this?
Absolutely needed. Please integrate.
I would love this feature, has anyone tested the Pro Module for use with PPAdvance in recent weeks?
@Jon Wong
I am going to see if my PPA account will work on the PPPro module tonight.
Could not figure it out Jon... I will call PayPal on Monday
Do you have a dev sub account that would allow to test features specific to PPAdvanced or a test account in general. Based on what i see it requires API access and API is not available with PPAdvanced.
I've moved on to testing out STRIPE as a payment gateway using https://www.whmcs.com/appstore/962/Stripe-WHMCS-Payment-Gateway.html
I'm making modifications and about to begin testing it as a replacement. Since it supports CC processing direct on our website with out leaving the page and thats the primary benefit of PPAdvance. STRIPE is a valid option as a replacement and supports CANADA.
I should be posting updates to the code via github.com/zmjwong
Based on my primary overview of the code its a little out dated and needs to be modified to work with our theme. I will start initial testing using default themes and work my way to an initial re-launche of the app. I've also been following their https://github.com/stripe/stripe-php and its active so i might have some catching up to.
I would love to see this module on whmcs.
