Knowledge base image upload
Completed
I'd like to be able to upload images in knowledge base articles, but this doesn't appear possible right now. It appears that the only way to include an image is to reference a URL to an existing image, as opposed to being able to select and upload an image directly into an article.
I'd very much like this feature!
Of the very few things missing update or implement this is one of them.
It appears the latest tinyMCE has the ability of uploading images. Can you guys implement this ASAP? It would cut down the creation of KB articles with images by 1/4
This is "Must Be" option in 21 century. Without this, it's like use manual windows raiser in your car each time you want to insert an image into post. Awful.
Yep ... my customers would snigger at me if I didn't offer wysiwig file uploads in my CMS.
I'd also like to be able to add propper markup h1,h2,h3 tags rather than font-size
If we upgrade to version 4 of TINYMCE we get this and more.
I added a request for it here:
https://requests.whmcs.com/responses/upgrade-tinymce-to-421
I would definitely LOVE to see this feature. It is one of the biggest pains for me to make KB articles right now
Please, oh please!
I would also like to know how do you upload an image in KB articles. At
the moment, you have to add the image via FTP to an image folder, then
attach it using URL - annoying and slow. I thought V6 might have
addressed this.
Any update on this?
3 years, it's "under consideration". updates?
As long as its implemented correctly - so images are removed when KB articles are deleted etc.
Yes it is very much required.
Need to also make sure the images are **NOT** visible to users who do not have authorization to view the KB. For example, if I block access to the KB within my template files to **only** logged in users with active products, all other logged in users and non-logged in users should NOT be able to hotlink to images... very important for security!
come on, there's github project for that already.
Guys, we need this. Takes me time to upload them somewhere else.
Guys, I have 3 x WHMCS license and uploading images manually wastes ALOT of time. Please allow us to upload images for announcements and KB articles. This is not complicated for you.
This feature is nog a "want to have" but a must have.
I have to agree. Really would like to have this feature.
Yes - it is a MUST HAVE! It is year 2017, not 1991 where we had to fight with HTML...
Must have, its not hard to done, Its funny that this comment system already have it but the whmcs not.
Its ironic that WHCMS is brilliant in so many ways but in others it is so poor its shocking. Its getting to a stage where I am thinking of developing our own inhouse system >:¬{
Agreed with Alex Gogan
just look at github or gitlab, both support copy and paste image upload in the comments.
this is a bizzare omission, considering that there are numerous free file managers available which can do this, so it isn't even like they would have to code it themselves.
Its very odd the upload hasn't been implemented yet, quickly editing a knowledgebase article isn't posible without the use of a 3rd party tool to upload.
Please add this feature asap.
I have been using WHMCS since 2010 and been waiting for this feature for a very long time. It does not seem so complicated and dont know why its not in their development path.
Uploading KB is really slow and annoying now. Upload files by FTP, declare the URL, insert image link to the article, etc, etc.... We are waiting this feature about years. (like entering hours to support ticket, or a workable OVH domain modul, etc, stc.)
Should we look for a new system? :S :(
The best way will be to ask the WHMCS staff. Can someone answer the question why it's not implemented?
there are a lots of open source ajax editors that can upload images by simply copying and pasting on the textbox. Check out github for all of them.
Hi,
Thanks for feedback thus far everyone. Looking at the most popular ideas and ideas planned/in progress at present, they tend to have in excess of 100 votes.
Please keep voting on this idea if you'd like to see it implemented in future, the more popular it becomes the better!
I can't believe we still don't have this feature. Can you pelase consider it?
It is open for 5 years now...
This should have been a standard feature in the first place.
5 years and still no image upload feature.
This is causing the knowledge base to be pretty useless because it is a lot of work to upload images, copy url's etc.
Just a image upload and a responsive embed... that's it ...
IT is truly amazing that they have been unable to implement this. Any idiot with a basic understanding of PHP can do this since there are WYSIWYG modules available with the functionality built right in.
I got a message that a topic is merged.
Maybe WHMCS kan (finally) inmplement and confirm this.
It would be such a huge benefit...
That sounds really good! knowing that there is already the theme ready to attach in tickets, it would be good for that now too! I agree and have it!
I just discovered this week that you can copy / paste images into the rich text editor.
I was the 101st vote, so now there are officially "over 100 votes." Can we please have this now? ;-)
This would be amazing!
Yes! +1 for me, thanks.
This would be a time saver.
How many years we need to wait for this "feature"?
@Lukasz Firaza - very good that you deleted your comment!!!
I am looking forward to being able to upload images in knowledgebase articles directly. I've been using WHMCS for 4 years. We now open our support in different the domain.
Hi all,
I'm pleased to confirm we are working on the ability to upload images through the admin area knowledgebase UI for version 7.10!
Keep an eye on our blog for the beta in the coming weeks to give it a try!
This is great news. Looking forward to finishing work in one place.
That's great news John, looking forward to the 7.10 release. Thank you!
That looks good!
now thinking which directory will be uploaded
