How can we improve WHMCS?

CSV Import Utility for third party imports.

It would be great if we could have some generic import scripts for new customers / those migrating from other platforms for which a specific set of import tools doesn't already exist (Parallels' stable of billing panels for one).

If we can have a set of tools which are supported and import from a "known format" into the WHMCS system that would be great (ie bulk import tools I guess)

The ability to import clients, transactions, domains, services, etc all from csv (that way we just get the Excel / XML / etc data which we know and then don't have to mess around potentially breaking whmcs's databases importing it by hand.

Similar I guess to the way we import from a relatively known format into Sage, SugarCRM or any other database backed tool .... csv file in, agree some mappings (or as previously noted, a "known format" goes in) and the back end whmcs is updated.

Whether we're importing 5,000 domains, 500 customers or 50,000 subscriptions from "another system" ... it would be great if we didn't have to reverse engineer the whmcs database to do it.

Add ability to import pricing via CSV
Pretty self explanatory. Starting a new company and have hundreds of products to add and for each of those, i'm offering monthly, quarterly and annual payment options. I have the pricing in Excel and would love to be able to import it all by converting it to a CSV file.

Hi Jon, WHMCS, any movement on this?
+1 Would be nice to have the option to import products/services and customers into WHMCS using a CSV file (like woocommerce)
This feature would be much appreciated. We have a few hundred clients we are setting up in WHMCS and doing manually is very time consuming. It would be great to have a csv to upload/upload existing customers.
This would be a very very helpful service as we are currently trying to load 50-100 new products and services and need to be able to do the on 2 sites.

Loading one product/service at a time will take very long even if you do use the duplicate service.

A very easy method used on woocommerce is just using their blank product csv or exporting a current list of products and then able to update and import new products .

This will also help with updating existing products where as you have 100+ products and need to update pricing you can use the csv import to update products on a mass scale .

Please see link as reference for easy import/export of existing products and adding new products.

Hi,
Let's say I'm using an autoresponder system or maybe google forms or facebook form to get new customers leads and information. I can also offer such customers a trial product etc.

Now that I have the customer information I want to add them to WHMCS (i.e. open a new account for each one) and to also add the relevant trial product etc.

This could also work when getting a list of clients and products from an affiliate that "sold" the product and converted the customer - without using the limited affiliate system of WHMCS.

CSV is a very common file format and usually any program can export and import information using such a file.

Thanks!
Ram
Hi Ram,
Thanks for taking the time to submit your suggestion.

I'd be interested to hear how often an operating business has the need to import data from a CSV file. What is the scenario surrounding that?
I'm still amazed that a tool like WHMCS does not support as standard, customers moving from other systems. It is very common now for customers to have existing domains, and in come case, with the new TLDs, 10, 20, 50, 100 etc domains. As a minimum WHMCS should support mass importing of existing client domains.
Importing from csv file should be prio to get working should be a nice thing and do some of our work easier.
even a csv based import tool of some form would be good.
Must have in v7 , its very trivial and makes migrations alot easier from alot of applications. This is a great value to WHMCS, it should not be missed!
Hi,
This is something very basic...

WHMCS - can we get your comment on this issue?

Do you really think that it's still an open discussion?

Thanks,
Ram
Setting up my first WHMCS installation and disappointed such an IMPORTant feature is missing. See what I just did there?

Come on WHMCS make a CSV import tool happen in v6.

cheers!
I am also looking forward to having this feature! please ;-)
What system did you use before WHMCS? WHMCS has many import scripts for other billing systems such as ClientExec, Modernbill & Kayako
I have 3000 tld to enter manually, in 2014 I would think there would be a way to import it!
