Metric Billing should pro-rata the initial invoice for Monthly billing

Scenario:
Billing metric of disk space is set up as follows
Name: Disk Space
Metric Type: Monthly
Metric Unit: 1Gb
Price: $1/Gb
Current situation:
Client order is provisioned on 30th September
and uses 40Gb in the last day of the month (the only day the product has been active)
Invoice with metric billing is sent on 1st October with the following:
Disk Space: 1 September - 30th September
Amount = 40Gb
Price: $40
Why is this a problem?
The service has been active for only 1 day, not 30 and as such the client should be billed for 1 day.
When you buy your car you do not pay for the fuel that it has consumed up to that day, you pay for fuel from the day you own the vehicle.
Expected Behaviour:
Metrics Billing should pro-rate the initial invoice amount, for monthly services to the number of days the product is active.
