When a subscription payment is made, the invoice number that the customer paid does not appear in the payment description in PayPal.

So how can I identify which order I paid for?

This is a big problem, since I only have the name of the product and a payment email.

but I have clients who pay with a different email than their account.

In the reminder notes you must have the invoice number of the payment.

is there any way to update this urgently?

Thanks for your suggestion.

Presently WHMCS adds the Service ID the custom_id field, and the invoice ID in the Purchase Unit description, which we feel is the best way to handle such as one-to-many relationship: https://developer.paypal.com/api/orders/v2/#definition-purchase_unit
PayPal's support team will be best placed to advise where to view the Purchase Unit description in their UI.
