How can we improve WHMCS?

I am writing to request the addition of a feature that would greatly enhance the domain management capabilities within WHMCS. Specifically, I would like to propose the ability to pro-rata domain renewals to a specific day within the month.

Current Functionality: At present, WHMCS allows us to set domain renewal dates to be 'x' days before their expiry. While this is useful, it does not fully address the needs of clients managing multiple domains. For instance, one of our clients has 90 domains registered with us. As it stands, they receive numerous invoices throughout the month, each corresponding to the individual renewal dates of their domains.

Proposed Feature: We propose the introduction of a pro-rata renewal option that allows all domain renewals to be aligned to a specific day within the month. This would enable users to consolidate their renewals, resulting in fewer invoices and streamlined management. For example, if a client prefers to have all their domain renewals on the 15th of each month, WHMCS would automatically calculate the pro-rata amount for each domain and align the renewal date accordingly. I appreciate it could only include domains due AFTER the date to mitigate risk of expiry.

Benefits:

- Streamlined Invoicing: Clients with multiple domains will receive a single invoice per month, covering all domains due for renewal within the current or subsequent month. This reduces administrative overhead and simplifies billing processes.

- Improved Client Experience: By aligning renewals to a single date, clients can better manage their budget and payment schedules. This convenience is particularly beneficial for businesses managing large portfolios of domains.

- Enhanced Efficiency: Service providers will benefit from reduced administrative work associated with generating and managing multiple invoices throughout the month. This allows for more efficient use of resources and improved client service.

This feature would be especially valuable for clients with large numbers of domains. For instance, our client with 90 domains currently faces a cumbersome billing process due to the multiple invoices generated each month. Consolidating these into a single monthly invoice would greatly improve their experience and satisfaction with our service.

The ability to pro-rata domain renewals to a specific day within the month would be a significant enhancement to WHMCS's functionality. It addresses a common pain point for clients with multiple domains and provides clear benefits in terms of efficiency and client satisfaction.
