Allow Add on products to have configurable options assigned to them, the same as normal products. You can currently do everything else with Add ons so why not configurable options.

The configurable options for the addons could be an opening list when the option is selected. Like a + next to or below the addon to reveal the options. They could even only appear when the addon is selected to save confusion. This would be in the same width/box as the addon itself.

Hi Christopher,
Thanks for your suggestion. Configurable options for product addons would pose an interesting design challenge for the ordering process.
Currently one selects product addons and configurable otions on the same screen of the order form. How would the configurable options be displayed after selecting the addon? It seems like it might need an additional page in the shopping cart to choose configurable options for addons.
Might that pose too much of an obstacle and present too many options for visitors to your site?
