Don't send Upcoming Domain Renewal notices when a domain is marked as Do Not Renew

Under Consideration

Customers don't have the ability to cancel a domain name (separate feature request) but they can mark it as "Do not renew".

If a domain is marked as "Do not renew" we should not send "Upcoming Domain Renewal" notices and allow the domain to simply expire. Better still allow them to cancel the domain themselves!

Thanks for taking the time to suggest this idea. The problem with not sending domain renewal reminders is that the ICANN regulations mandate that domain reminders be sent: https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/reminders-2013-05-03-en

So implementing this could potentially fall foul of these regultions.

ICANN does indeed mandate domain expiry emails, and registrars periodically check resellers for compliance.

The only way to remove the customer from the loop is to move the domain into a company account, and update the WHOIS information.
