Configurable Domain Sync Limit

Anonymous shared this idea 5 years ago
Under Consideration

The new unified domainsync.php is hardwired to only fetch 50 domains at a time.

I'd like to see the ability to customise the limit rather than have it hardcoded so that I can configure it how best suits my business. There's buttons and dials for so many things in WHMCS I can't imagine it's a big ask to have some control over this - especially as I have no choice but to receive emails from the cronjob in the first place the last thing I need is multiple domain sync mails in a day.

I agree. With only 50 per pass we need to have this script running every 10 mins for each domain in the system to be sync'd once per day which isn't ideal.

Agreed. 50 at a time is just too little when you have a lot of domains.

there is another feature request around this and it brought about a few questions about how this works at all. one key one being why are all domains being synced daily anyway. I think that request solves this problem if its is implemented with the commented suggestions.

50 is too low, i have no problem with my registrar to check 500 at once..

I believe this feature is really needed, and I think part of domain sync being "configurable" must also include the sync feature for specific configurable TLDs. Some TLDs do not have the module for syncing, and thus create the error: "Sync Not Supported by Registrar Module" when the cronjob runs, and ignoring specific TLDs, could save up space since each sync is limited to 50 domains.

I agree absolutely, need to check more than 50 domains at time. Perhaps at lease a dropdown with some different values (50, 100, 200, 400, 800, ecc) may be very helpful !

This is something that should have been addressed already long time ago.

Would also like to see that when this is an option to automatically check server php max limits and registrar limits. It is do-able with the partnerships with cPanel and Enom and others.

Definitely, need to be able to set a custom number of syncs per cron.

Definitely a need to set a custom limit to the number of domain syncs per cron.
