More Granular Control Over CC Attempts

I was prompted by support to add this as a "feature request".
WHMCS needs more granular control of "automated CC attempts". We are limited to setting it to "0" which attempts a card every day, which users get unhappy with. Or, charging them once a week for a fixed number of weeks, which would lead to extended incurred system usage without paid invoices.
We are requesting something like; share every day for a total amount of 3 times, or charge every other day for a total of 3 attempts. Then the system should stop attempting to avoid bad customer experiences.
