Stripe Payment Gateway Module
Completed
Stripe is expanding beyond the US so demand for an official whmcs module will only increase. They have now expanded to Canada and looks like they will be available in Europe soon.
There is a commercial module available, however, I don't know how well that commercial module works but they currently want $45 per year which is rather expensive for what it is imho. On a product like whmcs which only charges around $140 a year that is an additional 30%. Every little bit adds up when you have to pay licensing for every little thing like this.
Thanks for all your votes and valuable feedback on the Stripe payment gateway. I'm pleased to advise the integration work has now been completed and an Official Stripe module will be included in the version 7.1 release!
The module will provide a seamless experience to customers - just like our other tokanisation modules. We have also spent time making sure that transitioning to this new module is straight forward. Provided the remote token IDs are stored in the WHMCS database beginning with the prefix "cus_", then switching to our module will just be a case of configuring it, deactivating the 3rd party module, and selecting the Official WHMCS Stripe module when prompted.
Migration instructions will be included in our documentation upon release.
Stripe should definitely be available either in the core or as an add-on module direct from WHMCS. I'd even be willing to pay for the module as I'm personally tired of PayPal and the current module by another developer (which is the only one I've found to work, partially) tends to mark multiple orders as fraud even though they're not (and I've personally verified about 100 of the them by phone in the past few months).
I'd love to have a nice, smooth integration that supports one-time & recurring billing (both of which Stripe natively supports) and one that just works - zero configuration beyond the keys required to send a request.
If Stripe integration isn't something you want to ship with the core, ship it as at add-on. I'd be willing to pay $29-$49 for the module (this is based off pricing I've seen for similar integration with other products not related to WHMCS).
a 3rd part module as already been created, and i've been using it for months now it works great. But costed me $50
We are using the 3rd party Stripe module "zstripe", but the developer neglected to include stripe.js. Without stripe.js the card numbers don't get verified with street adresses. I contacted the developer about months ago, and again recently with no response.
+1
WHMCS should definitely offer an official Stripe module immediately due to the popularity of it.
3rd part intergration is available from whmcs forum for free
I also would like to see this. We currently use zStripe and I was not aware that it does not do all verifications for the cards.
I've run out of votes but this is definitely a MUST! I looked high and low to switch our merchant account and we find Stripe very suitable, easy and secure. The Zignut plugin is abandoned but there is StripeXS and a free module on the forums, which seem to work fine even with the Stripe.js. For those of you who aren't clear on it, Stripe.js makes credit card info collection on Stripe's servers, not yours; so that helps (partly?) relieves you from PCI compliance.
Good point though: we need a WHMCS officla plugin, evne if it comes at a premium.
This is also a feature I would really like to see WHMCS include natively. Stripe is a perfect fit for WHMCS and a great fit for the hosts who use it because it is affordable, easy-to-integrate, quick, and modern.
I went ahead and published the Stripe module that we had made as a temporary alternative. It supports all the major features of Stripe (fully integrated with WHMCS), including one-time and recurring billing as well as payment processing where the client's credit card never touches or gets stored in your server. The beta module, along with install instructions, are available here:
https://github.com/nextgenweb/whmcs-stripe/
If you get the chance to check it out, let me know what you think. WHMCS is, of course, free to use this code to develop and integrate a native Stripe module.
As of today Stripe is available in the UK.
>>As of today, you can accept Visa and MasterCard transactions, and you can choose to accept payments denominated either in British Pounds (GBP), Euros (EUR) or U.S. dollars (USD). (If you need to accept multiple currencies, you'll need to create an account per currency.) Other than that, all our docs and features apply, so jump in at https://stripe.com/docs.
We'd be very grateful for your feedback, either on your experience with Stripe as a whole or on UK-specific details, however minor (like wording that seems off or anything else). We'd obviously especially like to hear about any glitches so we can fix them as soon as possible.
Thanks again for your patience. Let us know if we can help with anything at all as you're getting started with Stripe.

Would love to see this, struggling to find any working WHMCS Stripe addon for 5.2.x
Being such a popular payment method now (I think), this is a a must have within WHMCS
@StormVZ - While I whole heartedly agree that we need a stock option for this gateway, I've been using the ServerPing version without a hitch. It includes the ability to use the stripe.js file, which means your server doesn't handle any of the credit card data.
Might be worth taking a look (it's Free, can't hurt). A recent update included the ability to change currencies, which I originally had to hardcode in because it was causing a failure for processing to a Canadian bank. Everything is working fine now, though.
We also use ServerPing's version and it works great, you can get support from him as well.
Same here, the plugin from ServerPing.net is great! It's free, with a $15 annual support option.
I have no problem with Stripe from serverping, I run it on our dev license in test mode and it worked flawlessly in GBP.
We have a demand from clients to get recurring subscriptions up, the only module that seems to do that is StripeXS which is about $50 CAD? It's a small price to pay really.
We asked them and hopefully they said they would have v5.2.x module and GBP up by end of this week and it supports recurring subscriptions!
Would still prefer something "official" regardless.
Check out wStripe (http://www.wstripe.ca/) - it meets your needs. We are adding Remote Tokenization soon as well. :)
Agreed with everyone. An official Stripe module would be fantastic.
There is no need to use the recurring features of Stripe because WHMCS already supports automatically charging a clients credit card which works with the ServerPing Stripe Module or any other WHMCS credit card module.
The module from ServerPing has been flawless for us.
I am very happy with StripeXS (which has remote tokenization as a checkbox) It's actively maintained (unlike zstripe) and is pretty much as frequently updated as WHMCS is.
Even more happy with the developer who is highly responsive and open to development suggestions.
Reminds me very much of how WHMCS handles their clients ;-)
+1 for an "official" stripe gateway module - features should include:
- one time billing
- recurring (subscription) billing
- option to not send charge to gateway until order is manually approved.
Option 3 can apparently be done using stripe.js by storing a token in the whmcs database - card data is stored on stripe side.
I agree that this should be added and supported directly by WHMCS.All these various third party modules haven't gone though any type of security audit and you should be wary about putting third party encoded scripts on your server.
https://www.whmcs.com/appstore/962/Stripe-WHMCS-Payment-Gateway.html
It seem to be pretty good from what I see so far. Anyway I do agree that WHMCS should provide an official module, mainly to give us some peace of mind as a lot of third-party modules are abandoned half-way.
oops - dupe upvote
This payment gateway was recommended to us by a young developer who attends the Apple and Google developer conventions so it would be helpful if WHMCS is keeping up with new technologies as adoption becomes more common around the world. We hesitate to use any third party modules not native to WHMCS.
Stripe is now available (in functioning beta) in Australia too. This is an absolutely necessary feature from my point of view.
Going to switch to serverping's option, hopefully they will maintain the module with whmcs updates.
Never the less, I still think that an official WHMCS module is needed.
I just switched from zStripe to ServerPing module. The stripe tokens apparently match because recurring payments continue to work. That was my biggest worry.
Still would like to see an official module. Stripe is becoming the defacto standard for credit card processing so it makes sense.
Stripe is by FAR a much needed payment gateway. This company is revolutionizing the payment processing industry and finally understands the needs of small businesses. Paypal, their policies, and their horrendous fees are a little ridiculous and the moment this module gets published is the moment I cancel my Website Payments Pro account with PayPal.
I already wait 3 - 5 business days for the money to hit my account... so why not wait 2 extra days and have no monthly fees. Stripe > PayPal.
To be fair, using PayPal Standard Payment Gateway the processing fees come out to almost exactly the same as Stripe. I can't speak for PayPal Website Payments Pro product as I don't use that.
The real thread for this feature request is at https://requests.whmcs.com/responses/stripe-payment-gateway-module
Would love to see this happen.
Please make it so.
Any chance we could an official response on this?
Thanks.
Why are WHMCS dragging their heels on this? Other gateways have Stripe modules. Why not WHMCS?
We need an official module
I also would love to see a Stripe module! I feel better about using official WHMCS modules and the Stripe gateway is starting to pop up everywhere.
Please consider making this an official payment gateway
We agree!
I vote for this too! I use Stipe for two of my Bigcommerce sites and it is awesome! simply and flawless.
I've been using the Serverping Stripe module, but would love to see this implemented as a WHMCS-supported payment gateway.
I can't believe the one payment gateway that is geared towards developers and is more popular now than ever, is the one payment gateway WHMCS don't offer and support. And here I thought WHMCS customer base consists of developers like myself and those who do work with APIs in some form or another. I don't like the idea of having to rely on third party developers continued support with payment gateways. They are likely to discontinue support at some stage, and with payment gateways you need constant and reliable updates, and that's why it should be done directly through WHMCS as an official module.
Stripe is the way forward in the payment gateway world. The fact every other WHMCS alternative is supporting a Stripe Module surely must be enough for WHMCS to jump on board too!
Stripe is now offering 2 day transfer with some accounts so a lot more people will be using it more.
This is already a feature in other systems and the community has already built customizations for it, but it would be really nice to see something as integral as a payment gateway included with WHMCS so you don't have to worry about breaking the customization every time you upgrade WHMCS!
Stripe expands in AU with multi currencies support. More WHMCS users will need Stripe module.
Switched from worldpay to stripe - blows the socks off worldpay. Everything about stripe makes worlday look antiquated. Been using serverping since the onset and works brilliantly - it should be officially integrated into whmcs - and the author has already that's fine.
I would also like to express my interest for an official module.
+1 for official module. Stripe is awesome, easy, and cost-effective. Little to no PCI compliance crap.
+1 for official Stripe module.
I suggest voting here instead: https://requests.whmcs.com/responses/stripe-payment-gateway-module
Another +1 for an official Stripe module. Come on WHMCS get your act together! Move forward with the times and keep your clients happy who've been with you for so many years!
P.S. Why is Heisenberg on the toolbar above?
I have the Stripe module and it works great! I got it for FREE and I have been using it for MONTHS. You guys need to look on the internet and find the 'Free' Stripe WHMCS gateway module. I found it via the WHMCS Marketplace.
Guys,
Please update similar request here:
https://requests.whmcs.com/responses/make-stripe-whmcs-default-payment-gateway
so WHMCS can understand how important this is.
Thanks!
Why did you make another request? :\ Dupe requests spread votes and make it harder to see things.
I can't believe this isn't already part of WHMCS. I just about didn't move to WHMCS because of lack of official support for Stripe.
I can't believe this hasn't happened yet, and only 5 votes?
Amazed there's still no news on this feature...
Look here instead of this duplicate -> https://requests.whmcs.com/responses/stripe-payment-gateway-module
Please implement Stripe as an official module; the majority of the other modules included are far less utilized as payment processors than this one. This one has been long in coming and should have been implemented already.
Has anyone seen any official response from WHMCS about this? I can't imagine why they haven't implemented Stripe already, and why there is no response. The developer of one of the third-party plugins even offered his code for free as a start.
We definitely need an official Stripe module. Quite disappointing that no WHMCS staff has responded at all to this popular request.
Just come across stripe, and was hoping to add it to whmcs with a few clicks.
VERY Disappointed to find a year old feature request, without a single WHMCS response in it.
Stop dragging your heels and write an official module for it WHMCS.
I Wouldnt hold your breath for this to happen any time soon, if ever tbh.
So "there is nothing that could be said beyond what already has".
IE, Nothing.
WHMCS, Why don't you just save us all wasting our time and just delete this subdomain?
Still holding my breath... WHMCS needs this payment gateway.
+1 for this.
This needs to happen at the very Minimum with WHMCS 6.0 (when ever its going to come out).
But the last I checked on the this the Free and Paid 3rd party versions would not do recurring, that's a deal breaker for me. I want Stripe, but need Recurring and I hope WHMCS will get things rolling on this soon!
+1 full stripe support.
For 2 years in the queue and still not even in"In progress" status?
Not impressive.
To be honest, I'm surprised it only has 90 votes. I've used Stripe, and it blows everything else out of the water. Here you have a unique product that focuses on and makes it easy, secure and cost effective for all parties - merchant, customer and developer... and the people behind it don't appear too greedy. Stripe offers much more than SagePay, for exampel, who were charging me €30 a month on top of the acquiring bank's processing fees, and on top of all the PCI compliance and non-compliance fees. A lot more flexible and more cost effective than PayPal. Yet just 90 votes.
+1 for Stripe, can't believe it hasn't been added already. Is WHMCS still in active development?
any updates from devs on this?
+1 for Stripe. We would love to pay for it if it was supported by WHMCS too!
Stripe.JS should be part of WHMCS natively. These 3rd-party modules are lacking in quality and security.
+1 for Stripe too.
Stripe is already available in several countries and should be part of whmcs payment gateways that are already included.
Why has this not been added yet? Can anyone from WHMCS explain that?
I will no longer use Paypal for credit cards, too many fees, and too much hassle with them and chargebacks.
I have been using Stripe for over a year now, and have not had one single problem, or even a chargeback. That proves it right there for me.
Please add Stripe at the earliest possible time.
And, as mentioned above regarding the current third party hacks for Stripe, I just dont believe they can be considered safe or secure to use. A few have already gone under, and some are AWOL now.
Thank you.
Please WHMCS ... Make it happen!!!
1+ for this module. Badly needed these days.
+1 for this please WHMCS!
I have to agree, a much needed addition. Stripe is now a massive player in the payment gateway market, everything about their system is easier to use/understand and setup.
Giving up on WHMCS and moved just for native Stripe integration.
Payment gateways are too business critical to be side lined to being 3rd party modules and as Stripe is now a major player in the online payments industry WHMCS is failing majorly by not filling this gap in the product.
I've used a number of Stripe modules. Even paid for some. They all break or break my system. I'd give anything for WHMCS to incorporate this. I prefer it to PayPal, as do many of my customers.
Cannot believe this was posted 2 years ago and still has not been implemented due to WHMCS relying on 3rd party addons.
Blesta stripe does not do remote tokenization, the information first goes through your server which creates an security alert on your stripe security (saying that you are not compliant and should fix it). Not sure on the details, but point is, Blesta's Stripe module is not fully supporting stripe, just partially, which means you need PCI-DSS compliance to use it (which defeats the purpose). The Blesta guy has been nagged about it and has said that full stripe compliance is coming on the next big release (which has no specific release date).
Blesta guy gets even rude when someone asks about this. Its somewhere in the blesta forum. We noticed the problem and searched for the issue when we found that forum thread. So, in summary, Blesta's stripe modules does not use Stripe.js properly and you have to get PCI compliant (SSL is not enough).
If this is so popular and there is all this feedback, then there is some roadblock or hurdle as to why it hasn't been done, or there's not one plugin that is above the rest. Is it an api issue back to whmcs for payment status?
There is proven and very good free module available - and it's ready for V6. While it is free, I donated and you should too. It's from Joe Clarke at ServerPing.net and we've been using it for a couple of years now.
PS I believe Joe offered to work with whmcs - not sure what the issue is.
https://www.serverping.net/clients/clientarea.php?action=productdetails&id=4455#tab3
+1 this although I don't see why WHMCS couldn't just adopt Joe Clarke from ServerPing's module as an official addon if both parties are open to that.
+1 I really think they should add this to.
I want to thank though Joe Clarke for his stripe module.
It really makes you wonder why WHMCS staff haven't "chimed in" of late on this?
Considering the large amount of payment gateways WHMCS has now, now with 82 payment gateways (as of 6.1.1 and not including "Mail In Payment").
But there seems to be several "Featured Gateways" aka, pay to be listed as a feature gateway I am sure. One of those is PayPal, which it is very interesting Peter Thiel founder of PayPal was a original investor in Stripe and makes you wonder since PayPal is a "Featured Gateway" if there isn't something that WHMCS agreed to not make a Stripe plugin for PayPal paying to be a Featured Payment gateway.
Now, I agree, this is all speculation, but I am sure WHMCS doesn't make processors as featured out of the goodness of their hearts. This is business after all and that is a valued added to promote processors. And perfectly fine. But the tie in with the exfounder of PayPal, no hint of Stripe module from WHMCS and PayPal being featured, really has to make you wonder if we will ever get a Stripe module when it is become one of the most popular processors around. I am sure when "Joes Processing Company" starts up in some far reaches of the world, there will be a WHMCS payment module for that, but not the increasing popular Stripe.
Go figure.
Honestly, it's not a huge deal. Joe's module is awesome, probably with more features than WHMCS's would have...and it's free! Go support a third-party developer, pay the $15 for support & updates and get yourself a great reliable module.
https://www.serverping.net/clients/clientarea.php?action=productdetails&id=4455#tab3
Hey myworksdesign, I agree with you 100%, I have tried three 3rd party Stripe plugins already, and Joe's is the one I finally choose (I actually purchased the other two). Joe's support is the BEST! And I have paid the $15 plus an additional $50 as I am using his plugin on TWO different WHMCS installs, and one of them requires some special configuration due to the WordPress - WHMCS bridge we run with one of the installs.
However, my main concern is what happens if Joe gets ran over by a truck, heaven forbid, and now where are we at? As critical as the payment module is, I would prefer WHMCS support it, its that piece of mind.
Same here - he does a great job.
Agreed - that's always a risk with 3rd party developers. Most with open code like his will leave a provision that it be open to re-use / re-coding if he decides to no longer support it, and there's been a large success with this in situations like this in the past.
Also, with WHMCS's not so fast development pace, I don't see an update by them rendering his gateway obsolete or broken overnight, although you could never say for sure.
I agree - a module by WHMCS would solve THAT particular problem, but overall, demand dictates supply, and if there's a demand for a WHMCS Stripe gateway like there currently is, third party devs will continue to supply satisfactory gateways until WHMCS meets the demand and produces one of their own.
:)
We appreciate there is considerable demand for an official Stripe module and our team is investigating it.
I believe people have been requesting this module for well over a year now, we currently use a module that we've had to custom develop for our own use, however have used Stripe's recommended third party WHMCS modules in the past.
re: Stripe's recommended third party WHMCS modules in the past.
what are they?
This should be a no brainer. Serverping's module is great, but native support would be even better. I hope there will be an easy way to convert across to the official module once it's released.
I also want native support. It makes things easier in terms of upgrades and this payment module is extremely popular now, I think WHMCS is probably the only system that does not support Stripe today. In particular when Stripe is so open about its API and integration with other products.
I'm 100% for native Stripe support in WHMCS! I'm currently using Serverping's module (which works fine, by the way) but native support is almost always better in terms of upgrades. I understand WHMCS is a large product and updates take time (if done right), but Stripe integration is one of the easiest integrations I've ever seen (Apart from Mollie, which is like three lines of code)!
It's quite frustrating to see WHMCS's negligence on this matter continue despite such public request. After a 100% increase to support fees in June 2015 one would have expected them to deliver on the promise of "significantly accelerate the speed with which we're able to deliver changes". What a load of crap!
A competitor incorporated this as standard recently. It's baffling that WHMCS are still only investigating. They have been "investigating" for over 3 months now. Unless there is some politics at play (ie WHMCS have investors/shares in other payment gateways - Is this the case WHMCS?) this should have been a no-brainer.. 2 days of investigating and then a few more implementing.
I've opened a ticket with WHMCS about this now. It's embarrassing to them the longer they ignore this issue. Might I suggest you all do the same.. at least then they can't ignore this any longer.
Seriously need a robust Stripe plugin.
There is already free stripe plugin. I'm using almost 1 year, and it's working without problem.
Why can't you guys at WHMCS just offer the ServerPing developer some cash to take and incorporate his plugin into the WHMCS itself, and then fix any bugs and improve on it from there, instead of "investigating" the feasibility of building a whole new plugin from scratch. That way you could have it available out of the box by the end of the week, pretty much, instead of making everyone wait and hope for it...
*crickets*
WHMCS, please can someone give us more details other than "we are investigating" here? How is the 4 month long investigation since the initial 3 year suggestion about this payment gateway going?
Some of us pay you money each month/year.. we don't deserve to be ignored for this long.
Really braintree was added but not Stripe. How is this possible?
7 Month "investigation"???? Come on WHMCS! Add native Stripe processing already. Its probably one of the most popular processors out there!
This is something that really needs to be implemented, how can you go on about investigating when it should take no more then a month to implement, its been almost four years since the request, with such high demand, something surely turning down potential clients, we are planning to completely replace PayPal with stripe it would be nice if it was implemented natively,
The real reason is simple.
WHMCS makes $$$ from its partners here at: https://www.whmcs.com/partners/
I believe they will goto Stripe and ask for a deal or $$$ to develop the plugin, when they don't get their way they just don't build it.
@Rodney, You hit it right on the head!
Case in point, I was speaking to another webbased software developer that builds solutions for Chamber of Commerces etc. And when I was discussing their web based software with them and asked about Stripe, they said they didn't have a module for Stripe.
In fact to their credit they didn't know about Stripe, interesting enough. But their payment modules they do accept they do get a small kick back from the payment processing company. And he told me with all their clients they pass over $15,000,000 a month and make a commission off that. So when they found out that Stripe didn't offer an affiliate opportunity at first they were not interested. Then after further discussion not only are they interested but are in the process of writing the code for the Stripe module, they said it would take them maybe 2 days at most to write the code., Another month for testing the code, and then after testing they would create the documentation about 2 to 3 weeks.
So, if WHMCS wanted to do a Stripe Module, they would do it, just not any thing in it for them. Wink Wink.
I was reading the comments and wanted to comment a few days back when someone said WHMCS didn’t implement Stripe because of $ or % commissions.
Today, with the latest comment I just had to chip in.
What you guys are saying here is not only childish but based
on pure and simple speculation. Stripe giving or not commissions on other
companies is only Stripes business decision and there is absolutely no reason why they
have to give commissions on their already low fees. I would probably not even
use a service that does that, because I’m not willing to be taxed that way by
other companies for my hard work. If WHMCS has some partners, it has absolutely
nothing to do with the modules they develop or support out of the box. You guys
honestly think all the modules that come give WHMCS Limited a commission?
The answer is no. So that has nothing to do with what modules get or not
released. WHMCS has many modules where they don’t receive money. I would
actually prefer if WHMCS focus on the software and not trying to be an
affiliate program for third party products. It’s your job to sell services to
your customers, not WHMCS selling them to you so you resell it again for a higher price to end customers.
If some company wants to partner with WHMCS and give them a
commission on new referrals, its mainly because they want to promote their
products to WHMCS customers base. Stripe is a merchant service that works with
banks. They already charge low fees per each transaction and unless you are not
aware, there are already plenty of middle men eating profits between a credit
card payment and your business. If Stripe worked on that model you assume, they
would have to raise their transaction % to pay off those fees and unless you
are not aware, that means you would earn less per each sale. This without even asking how that would work as it would be a serious security breach if WHMCS is supposed to know all your sales you make with a module and take a % out of that.
I would never ever use a module or a company like that. The
last post Rodney posted about the software developer is actually shocking. Not
only is that immoral but probably illegal. A person that wants
to tax me like that for sales I make, no way, my sales are of no concern to any developer and neither is the data I have on WHMCS, its my database, WHMCS is just one more software from all the softwares you use in a business. WHMCS has absolutely no reason to take a % on any sales you make in your business. They are not providing you with the banking
services, Stripes does. If that is the way a billing software works, then I would
just make some billing softwares and let the cash flow in and never work again
ever. Let you guys work for me, while I just take a cut on each one of your sales
and get rich in the process. A software developer that wants to take a cut on
the sales I make, from products I sell, using a merchant service they didn’t provide
either, just because I use the software? Forget it. I will just not use it and look for some alternative.
Most modules that ship with WHMCS where not even created by
WHMCS, but the developers of those companies. WHMCS puts all the API, hooks and
docs for developers. If they want to create a module for their services/products, they can. If you want to
create a module you also can, nothing stops you. If Stripe wants to create a module, they can as well.
You are
barking the wrong tree here. You should be asking Stripe to create an official
WHMCS module, not WHMCS.
Stripe then ships it to WHMCS and they integrate it
as an official module. WHMCS is a software company, not a bank. If they add
modules or features they do it for the reason they want to sell their
software, and keep you paying the updates, support, purchasing extra modules and using the software. And if they
don’t add Stripe or any other popular module, its WHMCS as a product that is
hurt, because its poor in features and integrations. Most billing softwares
today have to integrate things like 2checkout , PayPal or Stripe because they
are amazingly popular and that is what users want and request. So it’s not like
WHMCS has a choice here, this is why this is under investigation. WHMCS has to create a Stripe module eventually if they want to keep their billing software
relevant in terms of technology and products used.
This has nothing to do with
how Stripe works as business model or if they give commissions on sign ups or
not to other companies (which they don't).. WHMCS was never very fast in development, they prefer to add less
features, but stable ones. It does not work both ways; they are not Google or
Microsoft. They can’t keep adding new features and expect everything to work together, in particular because a billing module is sensitive as it has to be very
good integrated with all the billing features, unless you want something half-baked
and broken. Billing is a top core feature in WHMCS so it has to be very stable and secure. If WHMCS develops a Stripe module, it will take some time as they research how to best use the Stripe API and integrate it fully into WHMCS billing functions.
I see that WHMCS v. 7 is going to include automatic updates. That's a great feature, but it makes having a built-in Stripe module even more urgent. How are automatic updates going to help if I have to use a third-party plugin that requires altering WHMCS core files to handle Stripe payments?
150 comments on this topic, and WHMCS still has no official response on the topic and/or is "still investigating"...
This module development right here is what's preventing me from actually buying a WHMCS license... because if it's going to take you a year or two to develop a module for one of the most popular processing options out there today, how can I rely on you guys to handle anything else on time?
I sure hope the support is better than that for paying customers...
Which I could say support for paying customers is any better then them basically ignoring this whole topic, but as many will tell you its painful at best when you have to submit a ticket.
I would also like to express my interest in native Stripe integration.
And I'm tired of everyone saying "there's a Stripe module made by this person or that person". I've tried several. Even paid for them. They all eventually break. And I'm still stuck with PayPal. The module that doesn't break. :-/
@geekartist I've also had the same issues with 3rd party modules.
With a gateway as popular as this I think native WHMCS support for it is very important.
"We appreciate there is considerable demand for an official Stripe module and our team is investigating it."
Hahahahahaha . . . what a patently obvious load of bollocks!
i use 'RoudiApp the Stripe WHMCS Payment Gateway Module' from themeforest and have never had any issues in the 3 years i have been using it
It's a shame that WHMCS won't bother to give us an update on this. Some people have mentioned conflicting partnerships with other card processing providers and if that's the reason Stripe isn't being implemented, I'm very disappointed - the core product is more important than any such partnerships.
We all know there are 3rd party modules out there, but we all want WHMCS to provide an office module for this. It shouldn't take 9 months to investigate this, especially without an update from WHMCS.
It's the lack of support for stripe that has prevented upgrading to the latest version of WHMCS.
Our custom implementation requires lots of testing and template changes after each WHMCS update to ensure it remains functional. We were able to accomplish one-time and recurring payments with Stripe in a matter of days, WHMCS can do the same very easily. Not surprised they are dragging their feet on this, they never seem to focus on the right things with development.
Out of the 3rd party apps we have review the RoudiApp looks the most interesting as it does not require template modification as it uses Stripe PHP API and not the JS API. Hoping that if WHMCS does ever get around to implementing, they use the PHP API to keep from breaking templates too easily.
We are using the mod from ServerPing. It uses the stripe.js API and has been very reliable. We prefer that because it keeps credit card data off our server. But it has the broken template on upgrade problem. That extra work and testing is why we are slow in keeping up with upgrades. We really need a WHMCS built-in module either before or along with the v7 release. We can't risk auto updates breaking our payment gateway.
While we have not tried it yet, it appears the RoudiApp module only stores the stripe token on the server and will convert any existing cards being stored to this method. This appears to be the way to go. But as we are not using stripe yet, I have no comment on how well it works.
The problem WHMCS probably has with Stripe is they cannot get a referral incentive like they can with other merchants processors. I believe if they released this a lot of other competitors would get flushed down the drain as Stripe is free and there are no monthly fees.
The Stripe integration workflow is unlike any payment gateway current integrated with WHMCS and to implement it in a way that takes full advantage of the benefits of the Stripe platform requires changes to the underlying gateway module architecture.
It is for this reason that when using third party modules for Stripe you are required to make template modifications, and is in large part the reason an official Stripe module has been in the planning stages for so long.
However please rest assured that we appreciate and understand the considerable demand and are committed to delivering an official integration as soon as possible.
Thank you for the update WHMCS Dev Team, much appreciated! Please consider appointing a community manager to keep us updated on these things. It may not make sense to you but IMO when your side goes quiet, it makes us as customers feel unvalued and as though you're not interested in our requests or feedback.
It would be a bonus if development of the official Stripe module meant 3rd party modules (for other payment gateways) can use a similar flow in a clean way without template modification.
Nice to hear that, because Stripe looks like a very interesting payment gateway option. Even if there its already an external 3rd party module, it would be great to have it integrated in WHMCS, as now Stripe is in Europe too and the 3rd party module lacks of some functionality ,such as that the client cannot change the billing address related to the card that is going to be used. That address will forcibly be the address from the WHMCS account, which is not always the case that this matches the debit/credit card assigned address.
Probably with WHMCS 7 it can be added, because it features auto updates and that would make it easier to keep Stripe up to date with the JS library it uses.
Thank you
we will use this gateway on whmcs
It is possible to support Giropay, sofort and SEPA Lastschrift for stripe?
hi,
We are getting an incredible high number of fraud attempt with this module (illegal activity with hosting services), since it seems it does not check the cardholder name, neither it has 3D secure...
We need an update
