SRV record management in DNS management (for hosted Exchange)

Anonymous shared this idea 3 years ago
Under Consideration

For hosted exchange you need a SRV record in your customers DNS zone. WHMCS does not support SRV records in DNS management. If you create a SRV record at the registrar this will become an A record in WHMCS. So constantly a certificate name mismatch will occur.

Yea this is a big issue for me at the moment. I've been using cPanel and running my own cPanel DNS servers. I'd rather just have eNom do Name services instead. In fact, I was going through and converting a few clients until I stumbled on one using SRV records. When I realized that the WHMCS eNom DNS management didn't have any support for SRV records I was stumped. I found another plugin called enom pro but that site looks like it was hacked or something and doesn't accept paypal. That seemed like a decent enough fix if I could of found it. So then I'm looking at Modules Garden DNS manager and I can't seem to see any support for using eNom for a DNS server. So I guess I'm pretty well stuck for the moment having to run DNS on cPanel and my own servers until this becomes a fix. Please bump it up!

Just had a customer ask why he couldn't set SRV records and realized that the WHMCS interface doesn't allow it. I had to setup a backdoor login for access.enom.com for the customer, so he could interface with enom directly, to manage SRV records.
