Email campaign tracking and reporting

webulosity shared this idea 5 years ago
Under Consideration

We would love to be able to do everything using WHMCS. We use it for billing and CRM and would like to use it for email campaigns. We are using Mad Mimi which has tracking and reporting built in. The two platforms are seperate which means manually updating the CRM Addon list etc with campaign results and status updates for each contact.

Could you develop the email campaign facility so that email campaigns could be monitored? We would like to track stats like how many emails have been opened, how many times viewed, track link clicks etc. Any thoughts or suggestions.

Thanks,

Nick

I like this idea of email tracking so we know who has and doesn't open our emails.

regarding the mass mailing tool:

https://requests.whmcs.com/responses/email-marketer-complete-listing

-- we need a way to track how many people opened may email.

-- we need a way to see exactly what they clicked (if i'm sending a mail with links to my website)

--we need a way to know which email addresses bounced and why (and automatically determine whether it should be sent again later or not).

--we need a way to generate a list of people who didn’t open my mail and send them a modified mail.

-- we need a way to generate a list of people who clicked on a specific link from my mail - and maybe even create a new list with all the people who clicked on a specific link so I can send them a new mail (i.e. in the first mail i will offer some product with a link to my webpage to get more info - I what all the people who clicked on this link to be added to a new list to which i want to automatically send a new mail that will offer a special discount or something like that.

-- we need a way to a client to remove himself from one mailing list - but keep receiving mails from another list.

-- we need a way to design several signup forms to different mailing lists. if there is a way - can I add images, drop?down boxes, radio buttons, and collect information in custom fields.

--we need to send mails from deferment emails \ senders addresses and names?

-- we need a way to embed a registration form to my own webpage - from which a client can be added to a specific mailing list - so if a customer is in my website and see information regarding domains - he can register to a mailing list to get more info about domains from a specific registration form - and use another registration from to register to another list.

We setup EXIM on our servers to use SendGrid, which increased deliverability rates, while also providing reports on if/when a customer got the email, and if it was opened. SendGrid has free and paid plans. We got tired of fighting deliverability since we have a very low server count, and IP reputations are henky sometimes at best.

The great thing about SG is you don't have to set EXIM at the server level to use it, you can have WHMCS login via SMTP and get the same benefits. One thing you learn when you become a hosting company is, email isn't free and having peace of mind about deliverability and opens is paramount for us, and our clients.

SG also helped us with one other problem. Customers calling and saying so-and-so said they're not getting our emails. Pop into SG, run a search, and what you find 99.99% of the time is its being delivered, but going to their junk or they're not being honest to the person on the other end of the phone. Then you have evidence of deliverability or email rejection.

That makes no sense. You don't setup Exim to use Sendgrid. Exim is an SMTP server itself. Sure, Sendgrid allows you to send through their server and you can monitor reads, clicks etc, but the whole point of this feature request is to ask WHCMS to implement it natively in their system, the system we pay for rather than login to a completely separate system, its nothing to do with deliverability, but more to do with montiring the return on time investment spent when sending emails tom customers.

Any progress here? I really would like to see a flag in a ticket view as well saying whether or not my reply was read:

- by email

- in a browser

So we need to track email delivery from tickets, welcome messages and billing, quotes, etc. Which emails were bounced, which were opened.

To avoid guessing and requesting confirmation from a client: "did you receive our email?"

Probably even it should alert us if email or a ticket reply was never read during 10-20-30 days?

Regards,

Alex.
