DOWNLOADS - Two Important Changes Requested
- HTML Allowed in Downloads Description
This is probably my single biggest bug-bear with the way Downloads work. There is currently no ability to include HTML in the Download description, meaning any associated text is just a rambling mess if, for example, you're including basic instructions on what to do with an ISO file, or licensing limits of the software being provided.
See attached screenshot.
- Download Link only Active on Agreement to a EULA or Similar
We're a hosted Microsoft services provider, and as such, we're constantly making downloads of Outlook or similar available to our customers. Likewise, a number of our other non-Microsoft services require a software download of some kind.
I believe it's important to have a requirement where the customer must tick a checkbox to agree to an EULA or similar before the download link is activated.
There also needs to be a way to record their agreement. Perhaps a 0 or 1 is added to a database field related to the download when the customer either ticks or does not tick the EULA agreement box. This would also help with extracting reports for the likes of SPLA.
