What about a bitcoin payment module?
+1 for it.
There are already several processors which accept bitcoins and have their own modules for WHMCS. Bitpay and WalletBit are the two most popular.
who's using bitcoin? :-p nobody praticaly! it's not a major payment gateway, and if you cannot find one that suit your needs within the ones that are already available, i think there is a problem somewhere :-p
just reddit, wordpress, 4chan & MEGA started using them in the past months (and you can check the DEMAND for bitcoins has been skyrocketing lately) , so hope you can understad it will go big, yea saw theres one custom one for walletbit that seems to work fine
well... there is already a lot of gateway modules available in whmcs... ...i suggest you to wait until it get's more popular and then re-submit the feature request ;-)
Question : are you working at Bitcoin?
just tried walletbit and seems to work fine, just saw the developer has made several changes over some bugs lately, which would prefer to have a real stable module and mostly done by whmcs team
On my side, since there were security issues with modules like boleto (smaller payment gateways) i prefer to always delete gateways we are not using, and only use the ones that are the most populars, or build our own payment gateway solutions.
If nobody have an account with a payment gateway provider because it's a starting company, then nobody will use the module, and it would be a waste of time i think to develop something like this while there are needs for so many other things!
i did a search for boletto, and all i can see is SEO... ...nobody's really talking about it... ...every related articles seems to be posted by an SEO person working for them... ..beware ;-)
But a good bitcoin module would beneffit my bussiness a lot since a good portion of my niche would love to pay with it, im sure many other people using WHMCS would benefit as well, Ill test walletbit module meanwhile tho
sorry.. i mean.. did a search for bitcoin... ...not boletto. :-p
I will let other comment on this now :) Have a nice day, and yes, i know the hosting market, and that's why i am saying this ;-)
no no check properly bitcoins, will be huge :) but yea I guess if it goes big enough whmcs team will put some eye into it
but trust me many big players gonna start it accepting it soon, theres a lot of benefits in this currency AND_A_LOT for hosting purposes :)
I use Paysius merchant gateway and brought the addon from:
Is this gateway works well on your end? did they develop this addon by themselves?
How much money do you lose to payment processors such as authorize.net, PayPal, google checkout? 2-3% right? That adds up quickly. So with bitcoin ther is no bank and no transaction fee? If that is the case it will be huge... Very huge.
But yea bitcoins are already going quite big, might be a bubble atm, but who knows, many new services are starting to accept it increasing its demand :)
Lets hope WHMCS considers this
Yes this is going to be a payment gateway for the future.... and adoption is growing at an extremely quick rate.... its not 100% necessary to have compared to other outstanding features and bugs but i give my vote for this one to be considered.
This... let's say "strange"... payment method is just a bubble that will break at a point, as many did before, because they don't deal with real money and banks that gets controlled by some authorities. I don't really understand how people gets fooled into this kind of things so easy... Anyway, that's just my opinion...
Would like to see it just for the sake of showing the government that they can't control money like they used to be able to.
@lordlex... nothing strange about bitcoins as a payment method, 99% of trade (except the 1% of cash in circulation) is numbers in a database. A friend who worked for MasterCard knew told me an ATM transaction cost 2 cents in 2001 despite the customer paying closer to $2.50. The banking sector is milking old technology and stalling innovation. This is an opportunity to remove our reliance on them.
Bitcoins will have their own bubbles (just like every financial instrument), but short of being made illegal (no less than a co-ordinated worldwide effort would be sufficient) bitcoin is going to continue gathering momentum. Check the value over just 4 years. Do you want to adopt now? Read more hereThis should be a priority project... Best of luck with all your ventures! Kind regards.
@zomex... although governments screw with the money supply, economists are really to blame for the bad effects. Check out trail blazer Steve Keen
We all love to bitch about government, but they need to be replaced by something hopefully more effective. Happy to hear solutions, I haven't figured it out myself. :)

Yes this is true, there's a lot of people to blame but ultimately the corrupt & too big to fail banking system is the major issue. The government is allowing this system to operate how it does (specifically bailing banks out when they fail using tax payers money) which is why I said government was/is the #1 reason.
I believe there is a need for government but it should be cut significantly (no pointless jobs that add no value to the people/economy - I bet you could get rid of 30% instantly) and there should be less regulation in order for the private sector to prosper naturally.
No business should be too big to fail and no market should be inflated by the government. There also shouldn't be any industries that are restricted in terms of who can and can't start a business in that industry. I believe that banks should be seen as risky by consumers, they should be aware that money deposited could be lost (there shouldn't be any guaranteed deposits - all this does is allows banks to take as much risk as they like as the government guarantees it - this is a big reason why our economy collapsed).
On the flip side of this anyone should be able to start a bank but they should also be able to fail like any other business. This would create wary consumers and create many options for people to deposit their money (better yet diversify by using multiple banks) Germany is a good example with such a system. People control the banks rather than the opposite we see in the US/UK. The risk of a bank failing will cause them to act responsibly like any other business thus not providing loans to anyone they believe will not be able to make re-payments (i.e sub-prime mortgages)
It could be using a wallet and the API of blockchain.info
Hello Guys, I saw in here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=50161.0
that bitpay already released a Bitcoin payment plugin for the WHMCS billing system
Boy no insight whatsoever, big corporations use BitCoin now.
Bitpay module is already there in WHMCS, but Bitpay Officially not updating that according to latest WHMCS 7.
Bitpay module is updated and now available for whmcs 7+
