Better Additional Domain Fields

Hi there,

I would like to see a better way to manage aditional fields for domain configuration. Actually they are managed via includes/additionaldomainfields.php and each time we update WHMCS, we have to look it over and make the necessary changes.

Also, it's hard to understand how are these fields saved and how can they be used. I think there should be a way to manage custom fields for each tld.We also have some limitations with the actual system.

For one specific ccTLD (.PT) we need to set if the domain owner is a company or an individual. If it's an individual, the domain can be registered based on a trademark, on their name of individual entrepreiner or professional liberal (3 options).

If it's a company, the domain can be registered based on the company name or based on a trademark owned by the company. In the two cases, if the trademark is selected, they need to provide the property entity where they registered the trademark ( INPI if a portuguese trademark, OAMI if its a european communitary tradekmark, or OMPI if its a internacional trademark).

They also need to provide the number of the trademark request and the date.I think this can be easily done with a decent "additional domain field" management system inside WHMCS, so i would like to know the opinion of other users.

Regards...

I've run out of votes (how many do we have and how often are they "regenerated"?) but I completely agree.

Jorge, this is outlined here:

However since then I've increased it to 15 votes in 60 days -> I'll update the page.

This wouldn't just be for orders, but also in the Client Area -- allowing customers to change their .ca registration type (for example) when updating contact info.

I like this idea. Files that are customized shouldn't be copied over during an upgrade.

Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to provide this suggestion and for all your votes and comments. I'm pleased to advise that overrides for the additional domain fields has been introduced in version 7.0: http://docs.whmcs.com/Additional_Domain_Fields
