creating promotion code with different values ( New and Recurring )

Yaran TOOS shared this idea 3 years ago
Under Consideration

WHMCS get one value only and you can just tick Recurring checkbox for keep discount for renewing .

It is good idea if we can define two value for new orders and recuring .

For example I Like give 30% discount for fist year and than 10% discount for renewing.

This may not be a good idea.

I was reading online a few days ago, and saw this:

Deceptive Pricing Practices - The law also

regulates the use of price representations and practices. Below are some of the

common pricing practices that the law prohibits:

  • Claiming that the item is on sale by

artificially and untruthfully pretending the product usually sells for a

price higher than its normal price. The price represented to be the

products "regular" price must be a real price that the product

in fact sold for during some significant time in the recent past in

    the seller's own stores.

  • Placing fake price stickers on merchandise

with higher than actual prices so that the product appears to be marked

down when in fact it isn't

So in your case you would have three prices:

- The first year price, with 30% off

- The renewal price, at 10% off

- A "regular" price listed on your website

But, nobody will ever get charged that "regular" price. Regardless if it is a new client, or an existing one, they pay a discounted price.

In the info I posted above it says:

"The price represented to be the

products "regular" price must be a real price that the product

in fact sold for during some significant time in the recent past in

the seller's own stores."

But in your case nobody would ever be paying your listed "regular" price, so it could potentially be considered deceptive advertising.

If renewals are always 10% off, then drop all of your "regular" prices by 10%. Give new clients 30% off. That gives you the prices you want, the same as now, without listing a "regular" price that nobody ever pays that could get you into trouble.

I want to give renewal discount for some users which use this coupon. So I don;t want drop my "regular" price for ALL users !!

Also if you don't want this idea , you can use same value for order and renew discount.

Thanks
