Automatic Update Utility

We would like to see the ability to have WHMCS automatically updated upon either manual, or specified automated request. Because at the moment our clients download WHMCS through our WHMCS using the downloads section but we must update this each time a new release is released.

Would be good for this to be built in to WHMCS so it would automatically download the latest edition for our clients to download, maybe even display a notification in our Client Area telling them a new release is available for download.

WHMCS is happy to announce that Version 7.0.0 will introduce an Auto Updater functionality. For more information on what this feature looks like, as well as an opportunity to sign up for the beta, please visit http://preview.whmcs.com/.

WHMCS Version 7.0.0 Beta 1 is available for download today. We look forward to feedback about this feature in the coming weeks.

Custom scripts, custom modules, custom addons for all you have paid a lot of money. Gone with a click on a button!

I seriously hope the auto-update can be disabled. I never been a fan of auto-updates in these sort of cases. Also you never learn something from auto-update in comparison when you do an update manually.

But to each his own, I guess....

The auto update is a link in the Utilities, so when you get notified of an update then you can still do it the current way through FTP or click the link in the admin>utilities and let it update that way

This is very quickly and best utility,

I have an idea:

In default mode auto update re-download all files again,

I think in advanced feature add an option to select only replace present files and add new files added in update.

for ex:

I remove many language and modules and template in default whmcs package on my live site, but after update all files added again.

Sorry for bad english typing.

Thanks.

I have 6.3 can I auto update to the latest release?

No, you need to have the automatic update code (which was introduced in version 7.0.0) to use it. You will need to update to a 7.x release manually.
