Yes Chris but you're asking people to start messing around with code which isn't an option for everyone.

As it stands most websites need to use an additional CMS to power the front-end of their website. What i am recommending is the ability to create pages on the fly from within the admin, perhaps with the ability of adding custom meta data to those pages and thus doing away with the need to use additional scripts or CMS's and having everything under the WHMCS roof :o)

the "code" for an additional page is trivial and provided in the wiki, and then you can put whatever you like in the TPL - takes under 90 seconds to add a new page already !

But better when you can creat pages in admin area.

If you can't create a basic custom page that can easily be done with help from the wiki/docs, I don't see how you could run a business online, if you are a web hosting company you must be able to do basic html/css and the very basics of php otherwise you are quite stuck, the current way is simple enough and allows you to add just about anything you want, including php & javascript.

The admin area could easily get very clumped with data and with this idea, everything would have to be saved in a database table, which again is not the best way to go about it.

With all due respect Nathan your statement is rediculous! As business owners we (in general) are busy running our businesses and supporting our customers. The majority of business owners would employ a web developer to handle their websites because they neither have the time to fumble about with editing code or plain just have no wish to. Furthermore if you had any experience of using CMS's or Shopping Cart software of which WHMCS is both, you would know that virtually all of them provide the ability to generate pages.

The ease of doing so by editing code is neither here nor there and while I am personally a web developer I'm sure most other WHMCS users either do not want to or are too busy to fumble around editing code!

If you do not want to edit code to how you would like it, then that is the clients fault for being lazy, if you are too busy to create custom pages, get someone with knowledge to do it (designers), there are experienced people to do it for you, my point is valid, so with all due respect Andy, your point is invalid, if you are too busy to do it, then don't create additional pages, or get someone with knowledge to do it, however in my opinion, the additonal pages is just fine the way it is.

Laziness is your argument? Seriously? In that case then we are all lazy for not coding our own shopping carts. Hilarious! We all purchase software to power our websites because we want to focus on building our businesses, not editing code. YOU might have the time on your hands but I think you'll find most people either do not or just don't want to. I for one am grateful that I'm too busy!

WHMCS is a shopping cart of which there are hundreds, all of which give you the ability to create pages from the back end. When WHMCS was first released it was released as nothing more than a billing system for web hosts but every release has grown with additional and new features to make it what it is today, something no longer used as a simple billing system and rightly so. If WHMCS had remained what it was originally then it wouldn't be here anymore because it couldn't compete with the competition and wouldn't have become the fantastic script it is today.

You might want to look at the competition Nathan and see what they offer ;-)

YOU say that you don't have time on your hands to create additional pages (in HTML/css) the way it is, yet if we do it your way, you still won't have time to create additional pages as your are too "busy" doing things with your business, apart of online presence is your presence and pages, not just a buy link and order form.

I know what competition offer, I used to work for one of them competitive organisations plus I have used several of the competitive software's, I don't doubt that this is good idea, I'm just expanding on what bad things (and good) could also come out of it, if you want pages creating via admin area, that would require a lot of clogging of the database (and it would have to be saved to the database), which also means slower load times (as there will be larger database size), I'm looking at this from a larger perspective as well as long term effects (from experience).

The good things that could come out of it, is as you said, quicker to get pages added and customized so you can get to your customers and business aspects of your organisation.
